The Daily Mail in the UK has a good article on the March from this past Saturday. You can read it here.
But the thing I really liked was this snap of the crowd:

One of the comments below the original article was priceless!
Even for a politician, Obama is a quite exceptional liar, both in volume and quality.

Just in time for our 9/12 “meeting” Mark gets the ball rolling.
Where Is Obama’s ‘Center’? by Mark Steyn on National Review Online
Where Is Obama’s ‘Center’?
Look at his Rolodex and then figure out just where such a man would estimate it to be.

So why can’t the silver-tongued post-partisan healer seal the deal on this health-care business? Surely it should be the work of moments for the greatest orator in American history to whip up a little medicinal Gettysburg, a touch of Henry V-in-the-Agincourt-casualty-tent, and put this thing away. Yet there he was the other night with the usual leaden medley of tinny grandiosity (all the this-is-the-moment, now-is-the-hour stuff), slippery reassurances (don’t worry, you won’t be “required” to change your present health arrangements), imputations of bad faith to anyone who takes a different view (they’re playing “games”), and the copper-bottomed guarantee that you can have it all for no money down, no interest, no monthly payments, no nuthin’ (“I will not sign it if it adds one dime to the deficit”).

Some of you might not be familiar with the excellent blog, Powerline. I strongly recommend it to you for daily updates on the American scene. John Hinderaker has posted a very insightful analysis of Obama’s speech on Healthcare today. The opening lines are:
From a policy standpoint, there was nothing new in President Obama’s speech to a joint session of Congress tonight. It can only be assessed, therefore, in political terms. I read the transcript rather than watching it, but the speech struck me as reasonably effective. I assume the delivery was standard Obama–smooth, generally flat, occasionally a bit whiny. One striking aspect of the speech was that Obama kept talking about the “plan” that he “announced” tonight–but there is no plan; not in writing, anyway. Not unless Obama meant Nancy Pelosi‘s House bill, but he didn’t seem to, since he made a point of saying that details remain to be filled in, referred to work still going on in committee, and said that “his plan” is open to alternatives to the public option. This vagueness gives him a sort of deniability: what he was describing was more his concept of the qualities health care legislation should have, rather than a specific bill. Whether that was politically smart remains to be seen. So far, vagueness hasn’t seemed to be the President’s friend on this issue.

So I’m reading the Wall Street Journal this moring, and, Wow! I find this interesting article. Guess what? It’s not written by an ivey leager or even the good Dr. K from Fox News (get outside the beltway, Charles!) Anyway, here’s the subquote:
“The president’s proposals would give unelected officials life-and-death rationing powers.”
You just might want to read up on this before tonight’s show …er, humm, speech to congress.
